SHAUN FRANCIS

Host Shaun Francis is the chair and CEO of Medcan, a global leader in wellness and well-being.

An avid runner, cyclist and outdoorsman, Shaun is the author of the national bestseller, Eat, Move, Think: The Path to a Healthier, Stronger Happier You. He’s also the founder and chair of True Patriot Love, a charity he established to benefit Canada’s Veterans and military families.

Shaun earned his MBA from the Wharton School and a Bachelor of Science with honors and merit from the United States Naval Academy after he received a nomination from President Reagan to attend as a Canadian. While at the Naval Academy he also earned a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the Canadian Army.

Shaun is married to Stacy Francis and is father to Robert, William, and Christopher.

DR. PETER NORD

Guest host Dr. Peter Nord is the Chief Medical Officer at Medcan.

Dr. Nord is a member of Medcan's Medical Advisory Services Team, which provides guidance on wellness issues to some of Canada's largest corporations.

Before joining Medcan, Dr. Nord was a V.P., CMO at Unity Health Toronto, and a member of the Premier’s Council on Improving Healthcare in Ontario. He is the founder of Stillbrook Accessible Retirement Residences, Inc., a registered charity focused on developing affordable retirement living communities for lower socioeconomic frail seniors across Ontario. Dr. Nord was trained at McMaster University and the University of Toronto, where he is now an assistant professor.

Leslie Beck, RD

Guest host Leslie Beck is the Director of Food and Nutrition at Medcan, a best-selling author of 12 books and Canada’s leading nutritionist.

Born and raised in Vancouver, BC, Leslie obtained her Bachelor of Science (Dietetics) from the University of British Columbia and proceeded to complete the dietetic internship program at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto. In addition, she studied a Masters in Epidemiology at the University of Toronto. She is a member of the College of Dietitians of Ontario and Dietitians of Canada.

Leslie writes a weekly column in The Globe and Mail, Canada’s national newspaper and is a regular contributor to CTV news. Her nutrition advice can also be heard every week on Montreal’s CJAD Radio's Andrew Carter Show.

Dr. Andrew Miners

Guest host Dr. Andrew Miners is the Clinical and Product Director of Sports Medicine, Therapy, Rehabilitation and Fitness at Medcan.

Dr. Miners graduated with clinical honours from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. He is an expert in the assessment, diagnosis, and conservative care of muscle, joint, and tissue injuries. His philosophy for care is to determine the right diagnosis, apply the right treatment at the right time, and to optimize patient recovery by collaborating with other members of Medcan’s health care team.

Christopher Shulgan

Executive producer Chris Shulgan is a partner in Ghost Bureau, a leading content-creation agency based in Toronto.

Educated at Queen’s University, in Kingston, Ontario, and Northwestern University, in Evanston, Illinois, Shulgan is a best-selling and award-winning author whose work has been translated into languages around the world. Father to Myron, Penny and Fitz, husband to Chantel, Chris enjoys reading, running and playing tennis.

Managing editor Jasmine Rach is a journalist and audio producer at Ghost Bureau.

She holds a Master of Journalism degree from Toronto Metropolitan University, and an Honours Bachelor’s degree of English from the University of Toronto. Her interests range from community initiatives to drag brunch, and she’s passionate about traveling on a budget and living off street food.
